A study was carried out in Kandy and Matale districts to identify the level of adoption of TRI fertilizer recommendations in Mid Country Region, comparing adoption levels of difference types of growers and to find out significant factors for any non adoption. Stratified Random Sampling method was used to select the sample and data were collected by using a pre tasted questioner. Data were analyzed by using Minitab 14 version. According to results of the survey 33.5% of tea growers had totally adopted the present TRI fertilizer recommendations. Knowledge level, attitude and extension services have played most significant roles in deciding the level of adoption. Well planned training programs should be arranged to increase knowledge on tea fertilizer usage and field days, method/result demonstrations should be conducted to give necessary skills and to change attitude towards new fertilizer recommendations of the TRI for the benefit of the growers in Mid Country.
