Abstract
This research identify the level of sustainability of the tourism activities are carried out in sustainable development in Matale district hotels, hence investigates the level of sustainability of Matale district hotels and what kind of sustainable tourism activities are taken place in hotels. There are 23 of hotels are consider in this research findings. A series of qualitative research results are presented to demonstrate the level of sustainability. The level of sustainable tourism practices discussed with root level of sustainable indicators, such as; environment, socio-culture, and economic. This paper analysis the essential factors for sustainable tourism development in Matale district.
