dc.description.abstract | The evaluation of diffusion possibilities of mechanical transplanting method revealed that this method was more expensive and the yield benefits were highwhen comparing with other conventional methods. The introducing farmers showed some reservations regarding the spread of this technology in the area. The danger of massive displacement of farm labor cannot be ruled out. However, the big industrial set-up already present in the area may not allow this problem to become more severe. Fourteen variableswhich wereaffected to adoption for paddy transplanter in farmers of Mahawali B areaswere considered under this research. This technology introduced by Hayleys Agro Company at year of 2009 for Maha season. The data was collected from 100 farmers in Mahawali system B area under 7 blocks. Logistic regression model was used to find out the relationship between dependent variable and other explanatory variables, and descriptive analysis was used to explain the characteristics of the sample. According to the result of the logistic regression analysis, five variables were significantly affected to adoption for the paddy transplanter namely; age of the farmer, experience of the farmer, land area, average yield per acre and the paddy variety. Key words: paddy transplanter, dapog, sowing, parachute, adoption | en_US |
