dc.description.abstract | Fishery industry has been identified as an ancient industry in the world. Fish is an important source of protein and its harvest provide livelihood for millions of people as well as providing valuable foreign earnings to many countries. The study has been carried out at Beruwala fishery harbour which is situated in Kalutara district. Fish post-harvest quality losses are a major concern and occur in most fish distribution chains throughout the world. According to this study the fish Post-harvest quality loss in Beruwala fishery harbour is very low and fish post-harvest quality losses are connected with the gear category which used for the fish harvesting. Results of the study confirmed that there is no any quantitative loss in fish post-harvest in Beruwala fishery harbour.
