Abstract
The project focuses to overcome drawbacks in the current manual library system such as manual data recording, manual searching of books, less efficiency and accuracy. It facilitates Uva Wellassa University students with novel experience to have online library system with online cataloging, requesting and renewing facility via internet.
The web application speeds up the university library staff work and provides easy access to library modules and enables fast searching. Users can access library from home and they can check the availability of modules.
The system mainly provides service to library users, librarian, assistants, students and guests. Each user is given certain access Ievels.The system restricts access of data in the database. Certain manual functions were automated such as fine calculating.
