Abstract
This research, studies the effect of labour migration on paddy farm labour productivity using primary data from 150 households in three govijanasewa divisions in Kandy district. While there is many research studies, researchers find out the various impacts of migration towards the paddy production and it is very fewer Sri Lankan studies on examine the impact of labour migration on paddy farm labour productivity. Having recognized the need, present study was conducted to examine the impact of labour migration on paddy farm labour productivity. Methodologically, we estimate a Cobb-Douglas Production function. Using two stage least square technique to address the issue of endogenity arising of non-randomness in the migrant sample. The result shows that there is no impact of labour migration on paddy farm labour productivity.
