dc.description.abstractThis project focuses on main problems and certain neglected significant key factors in Sri Lankan health sector. It also addresses the difficulties experienced by main parties involved in hospital activities. This web application is proposed as a clinic management system as a solution for such problems. The clinic management system called "Widu Suwa Sahana" is business logic based web application. Two business rules were found in the hospital visits which are relevant to Sri Lankan health sector. Widu Suwa Sahana is a unique system compared to available systems. It can be used in all categories of hospitals in Sri Lanka. Because of the business logics the system is rich in flexibility, adaptability and user friendliness. There is no need of a skilled person to operate the system. Therefore anybody can use the system according to the permissions given. Fewer amounts of inputs have to be included for regular users while other inputs are handled by the system automatically. Finally, patients' history can be used for prediction purposes as well as for doctors to take better decisions on the patients. Patients do not need to travel for registration or examination of test reports. Short message service is used for necessary information and notification sending.
