| dc.description.abstract | This paper deals with development of an automatic accident detection system using CCTV camera videos. These systems are designed to identify and indicate safety levels of the roads and vehicles. Most of systems are used highly accuracy sensors, equipment with higher cost to determine the above requirements. This paper describes a cost effective accident detection system based on the speed of the vehicle. Videos taken from camera were analyzed using algorithm based on the image processing and video processing methods. Set points and the roads were identified by using Specified colour filters to determine the speed of the vehicle. By analyzing each and every frame on the video files speed calculation were done according to the algorithm and average speed was taken to the final result. Threshold value for speed was defined by the system and calculated speed was compared with threshold value. By analyzing above result system was able to give a statement about the safety level of the vehicle depend on the speed of the vehicle. | en_US |
