Abstract
As the Internet bandwidth grows, Internet telephony that transports telephone calls over the Internet has become an emerging application. Nowadays, almost every organization is planning to move its telephone switch from traditional PBX (private branch exchange) to IP-based PBX (IP-PBX). When considering current IP-PBX solutions Asterisk is the world's most popular open source telephony project that turns an ordinary computer into a feature-rich voice communications server. Due to the fact that Asterisk needs no additional hardware for Voice over IP it is easy to build a low cost IP-PBX system using Asterisk. Configuring an Asterisk server is not an easy task for someone who is not expert in Asterisk commands. As it requires editing some text file directly on the console of the server, this task is not always easy for most of administrators without knowledge of Asterisk commands. Most of the time, a graphical interface would be more convenient. By default, Asterisk generates its call detail records in comma-separated text files. Analyses of activities in Asterisk sever using call detail records in those CSV files is an inefficient task. There are various attempts to write graphical user's or administrator's interfaces to Asterisk. These interfaces allow administrators to view, edit, and change various aspects of Asterisk via a web interface. This project focuses on the developing a web based Administrative tool for Asterisk PBX for easy configuration, administration and interactive statistical analyze for Asterisk Call Data Records using a unified web interface.
