Item Content Management System with Backup Facility(Uva Wellassa University of Sri Lanka, 2010) Nandasena, H.M.J.; Priyadarshani, W.A.S.Content Management System with backup facility is helpful for most of web developers to manage their web content with the backup. System has become more important and sometimes more critical to implement in a web system. Content Management System has web hosting service with backup facility. With this system, a privileged user decides the necessary files to back up while the user can access them. PHP, AJAX, HTML, CSS and database with MYSQL were used to design the system. PHP sessions and hashing methods were used to increase the security of the data. File Transfer Protocol was used to handle file uploading and downloading. This system provides a web interface for the administrator or an authorized person to log in to the system. Administrator is responsible for creating, removing users from the system and managing content of the system. Key Words: Content management system, BackupItem SMS Based Student Information System for the University(Uva Wellassa University of Sri Lanka, 2010) Jayasooriya, J.M.S.J.; Priyadarshani, W.A.S.This paper reviews the use of mobile phones to exchange student information via Short Messaging Service (SMS). Student Information System is a very useful application for a community like the university. Through the system students, lecturers and administrators are able to get registered user's contact telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, employer details, occupation, etc In present situation there is no any document or method which keeps university students personal details after their graduation. But there can be a number of advantages by having that kind of information system. The application receives text messages via SMS sent by users and accordingly, modifies the database and sends the results back to the original user via SMS. This Student Information System enables five operations for users. They are add own information, edit own information, search other members information, delete own information and select the required member's information from a list. System always guides the user and keeps on informing user about whether he/she has done the operation successfully or not. System is able to provide guidelines to users on how to use the system. For sending and receiving SMS a 3G modem was used and it has been interfaced with the personal computers using an SMS gateway called Ozeki. This system is a fully automated one and minimum maintenance is required. The system helps to exchange information even in the remotest locations where internet service is unavailable.
